I’ve seen a few bloggers do like a roundup of favorites from the previous month, with beauty, skincare and hair products. I’ve gotten more into the lifestyle aspect of my blog so I figured why not!? My plan is to have certain blog posts that are always seen on my blog, once a month like this and then once a week like 5 on Fridays + Favorites. Some of these products are old favorites of mine and others are brand new favorites that I love. So it’s a nice mix of both that I can share and continue sharing each month!
Hair Products:
Milkshake Whipped Cream Leave-In Conditioner: Old favorite of mine! I first found out about this product on LiveJournal from a friend. And it’s still a favorite of mine. I love that it feels like a mousse but doesn’t leave build up or make my hair feel heavy. It also helps me brush out my hair easier, because of all the knots that I get. I use this whether I am wearing my hair in a sock bun or straight, it works well with other products too.
Eva NYC Dry Shampoo: I’ve probably been using this since Angela at Hairspray and Highheels shared EVA NYC products on her IG, I can’t remember when but it’s been… a year maybe idk, just a long time. I am super picky with my dry shampoo, it can’t leave build-up, it can’t feel like I have the product in my hair, and it can’t be visible after I work the product in. I have dark/light brown hair so I don’t need to see the “white” residue that other dry shampoo leaves visible in my hair. I love the smell, it’s not too perfumy, it’s more baby powder fresh smell. I’ve gone 6 days of no washing my hair with this product, on the 6th day I had it in a ponytail but my hair still wasn’t oily looking.
Skincare Products:
Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-Aging Duo Pack: After seeing a few bloggers (Angela & Miranda) talk about the Olay Regenerist Moisturizer I figured, why not? I’m… in my 30s… UGH. So I figured why not start to work on some anti-aging products into my skincare routine. Especially with the fall/winter which means my face will be a little more dry than usual. I love the moisturizer, it smells good, doesn’t clog my pores, doesn’t make me break out (thank goodness), and it’s lightweight. The Olay exfoliator is amazing. I use it in the shower, and I love how clean my skin feels, it’s smooth, and I feel like it really helps keep my skin clear as much as possible. I’ve actually bought a 3 pack of the exfoliation so I don’t run out. The moisturizer lasts SO long (a little goes a long way) so I’m good with that for maybe another month.
Acnefree Terminator 10: This has been a favorite of mine for YEARS. I don’t break out all over, it’s generalized around my chin, by my nose and sometimes on my forehead. It gets worse when I am PMSing, so this is like my best FRIEND whenever I start to get pimples. The days leading up to my wedding I put this on my chin, nose area, and forehead to prevent any pimples and it worked. The ONLY con to this product, it bleaches ANY t-shirt I wear. If the product is still wet or even if it just rubs off on a t-shirt, it’ll bleach it. So… make sure it’s not a favorite shirt or something you’d like to wear out of the house.
Beauty Products:
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: This is an oldie but a goodie. I love using this under my favorite foundations. I feel like it helps keep my foundation on longer, and the foundation goes on super easily. Whether it’s powder or liquid it glides on effortlessly, which I love, because then I don’t need to really work in the foundation.
Too Faced Hangover 3-In-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray: My friend Adriana (Daily Dose of Design) recommended this to me when I was going on my makeup splurging. Also a Beauty YouTuber I’ve started watching uses this for a setting spray and loves it! I’ve used it a few times and really love how my makeup doesn’t MOVE like at all. It smells delicious too which is a fun added bonus.
Bare Minerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder: I’ve been a fan of Bare Minerals since it first came available. I love the original one had a regular sifter, but the new one has a click and go sifter instead so no powder all over the place! I love that it sets everything and when I use it with a setting spray I feel like it double locks my makeup. Even if I don’t use a setting spray this helps set my concealer for my under eyes I haven’t tried this powder with flash photography so I don’t know if this does flashback or not. But it doesn’t have silica and it’s a colored powder instead of white, which I’ve read/heard that creates the flashback.
Bare Minerals Blemish Ready Foundation: Another longtime favorite, I love this one for the days when my breakout is pretty bad. It hides the redness as well as hiding some imperfections on my skin.
Bare Minerals BarePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation: I honestly love this foundation, it’s new but really feel like this could be a favorite liquid foundation of mine. I don’t wear it for the full coverage but I do like that if I need full coverage in some areas I can build it. I haven’t worn it for more than 9 hours but I do like that it doesn’t move at all during those 9 hours. I don’t become shiny in my t-zone either so I think this may be a perfect winter foundation.
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer: Recommended by many bloggers and beauty YouTubers alike, I knew I had to grab this! I have dark circles under my eyes plus some redness I like covering. This does an amazing job and I love how a little goes a long way! I need two small swipes under each eye and I’m good to go!
NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette: I have a contour palette that is creamy, but this one is great for powder foundations or just so it’s easier to blend out. I love the 8 different colors so I can definitely get the look I want. I’ve been testing out which ones I would use for contour.
Goof Proof Brow Pencil Easy Shape & Fill: I love using this and pairing it with a clear brow mascara (can’t find it or remember the name lol). I can fill in the area towards the middle of my eyebrows to make it look more natural filling. The color is also probably the closest I’ve gotten to it matching perfectly.
Bare Minerals Round the Clock Eyeliner: I’ve been on the hunt for an eyeliner that is good for the waterline that won’t smudge or get on my contacts. This one is amazing, it goes on smoothly and is truly perfect for my waterline. It doesn’t smudge and it doesn’t rub off on my contacts at all! I’ve worn this at a recent wedding and it stayed perfectly.
IT No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner: This is similar to the Bare Minerals eyeliner ^. Not just similar it’s basically the same exact eyeliner. No smudging no rubbing off on contacts. It’s just as pigmented as the Bare Minerals.
IT Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara: This is my favorite mascara, another blogger Lauren (Lauren McBride the Blog), shared this as her favorite/go to mascara. Since I’ve tried it, I’ve bought…. Around 6 of these. I don’t want to run out, so I just keep grabbing one. I love this mascara, I love how it makes my lashes look huge, without fake eyelashes. It coats well and it doesn’t clump when applying.
Whew! That list was long. I hope that this list helps you if you’ve been wanting to grab any of these products. Do you have any favorites that you recommend me to try? Let me know in the comments!
Great picks, now that the weather is getting dry here, it’s important prevent dryskin
I’ll have to pick up a tube of the acne free terminator 10. My daughter struggles to find things that work for her.
Milkshake Whipped Cream Leave-In Conditioner sounds indulgent!! I’m going to have to check this out!
