Even though summer doesn’t technically “end” until the 21st of September, it still feels like summer is over. Or at least over this coming weekend. It’s definitely weird that Labor Day is almost a week into September. Anyways, CA and I really did this weekend up right.
Friday night-
We stayed in, knowing we had a long fun filled weekend ahead of us. We made little bowls of yummy-ness and watched some baseball. I also blogged a bit, got things in order for the weekend.
Saturday-
In the morning I went to get my nails done with my mum and aunt. It was about 6 weeks that I last had my nails done, and I desperately needed a fill in. We got there just as they opened and were seated right away. We relaxed, watched Gilmore Girls on Netflix, my mum and aunt went out and I got ready. I repacked my bag to fit everything in smoothly since we were headed into NYC for the day/night.
CA picked me up at 1ish and we headed into Manhattan! He dropped me off at the hotel and I checked us in and went up to our room. We didn’t have a “view” but hey we were just sleeping and getting ready so it was fine. The hotel room was really nice, the bed was SUPER comfy, and the bathroom was super nice. We relaxed and watched some TV before getting ready. We had reservations for this AWESOME place in the South Street Seaport area. We took our time and walked down to the place, and I immediately LOVED the set up!
We ordered margaritas (cause you only live once right?), had coconut shrimp (SO GOOD), I had a burrito (from heaven), and CA got pulled pork sandwich. The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks… STRONG (that’s good right?). We hung out for a little and decided to walk “slowly” to the pier to catch our “cruise”.
We booked a NYC night, dance, and drinking, party cruise. It’s basically a gigantic Yacht that sails around NYC, going around downtown, heading uptown, turning around, chilling by the Statue of Liberty, than heading back downtown and going under the Brooklyn Bridge. It was about 3 hours long, and that was just a little TOO long. If it was 2 hours it would have been enough, CA only had one drink and I didn’t want to drink. We danced on the upper deck which was awesome we were outside the whole time. We got back to the dock around 11:40 and went straight back to the hotel.
Sunday-
We got up around 8, and went to grab breakfast before it ended. We then went back to our room and got ready to check out. CA went to the garage to pick up his car and we headed to Brooklyn to pick up N & D and go home. After CA dropped me off at home, my mum, aunt and I headed out to find dresses for them to wear for my wedding. We found really gorgeous dresses that they BOTH liked A LOT! This was HUGE, my mum is super particular about the dresses she gets, especially it being her only child’s wedding its BIG DAY. My aunt is also very short, she’s only 5 foot so dresses are hard to find. They didn’t buy anything because there’s ZERO way for them to return them if they find something else they like more. After our dress finding fun we headed to Chipotle for a late lunch and then headed home.
CA picked me up around 4 and I drove us to the Red Bulls stadium, we parked and made our way in to relax. We were there around 6:15 and got to watch the RB warm up which was awesome. They warm up right by the Supporters Section (which is where we sit), so we got to wave to the RB players especially Robles (their goalie), who definitely feeds off the support they get. The game kicked off at 7 pm and they were off! It was a very rough start, they just COULDN’T SCORE a goal, and then it HAPPENED. We got to witness TWO goals that were down at our end and we couldn’t have been more excited. Dancing, Singing, Chanting commenced until half time, after half time they scored another goal making it 3-0 RB, over DC United who is the number 1 team right now for the East MLS teams.
We left with about 10 minutes left in the game, we were both EXHAUSTED and had a long ride home. We hit some traffic (typical) and made it home around 11:15.
It was a busy weekend, fun, and just absolutely amazing. Hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for another fun filled weekend!
