Happy November! Fall weather, cool crisp air, little to no humidity, walking outside and not immediately sweating. I’m excited because that means I can wear a full face of makeup without the possibility of it melting off. I also love that I can wear my deep burgundy shades and some dark eye shadow. I also love “vampy” looks, the semi dark eye makeup and a nice bold lip, that’s my jam all of the time. I’ve also been looking at different eye looks, something other than a smokey eye, or neutral shades. If you’ve been following me the past few months, you’ll know that I started a project pan as a way to utilize the makeup I have and truly think about any makeup that I want to purchase besides the essentials.
When Milani reached out saying they wanted to work with me on an upcoming launch of product. I was and am still excited to work with them. I’ve purchased eyeliner and eyeshadow palette before from them but didn’t realize the wide variety of eyeliner shades and highlighter they have.
The Milani products are :
Gilded Rogue– This palette is totally out of my comfort zone, but I knew that I had to try it. The shades of red mixed with purple and blue, I figured this palette could get my creative juices flowing. I used this for a subtle pink/red look and loved how it came out, it was simple and these shadows blend beautifully.
Gilded Noir– I was first drawn to the palette because of the browns & the pops of shimmer. Which is actually what it says on the back of the palette Dark Dimensions, Buttery Metallics & Unexpected color pops- undeniably gilded. I’ve used this palette for three different looks, I can’t wait to use the gold shades for a holiday look.
Celestial Highlight Palette – The Celestial shades are gorgeous! I love that there are three shades, so I can use any which one. I’m all about the ease of traveling, and recently took this on a trip to Chicago! The middle shade is my favorite and the one of the right is great for inner corner highlight for eyes!
Stay Put Eyeliner– I am super picky when it comes to my eyeliner since I wear it on my waterline; and wear contacts. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t smudge underneath my eyes or on my contacts! It also went on the shade that I was using, it’s like a kohl liner but thinner so you don’t have to worry about sharpening it. I love the different shades and I can’t wait to experiment a little! I wore this in Chicago and luckily it’s waterproof & sweat-resistant, we had some rainy days than one super hot 80 humid day!
IT Cosmetics – Superhero Mascara/ Celebration Foundation Illumination – The Celebration Foundation Illumination has been my go to for my makeup days. It’s a great shade match for me and it goes on beautifully. Since it’s a powder I can just put one layer on and it just evens out my skin tone. The Superhero mascara has been my go to since I discovered it a few years ago. Normally I’m not one to spend a lot of money on mascara but this is the only one that I like! I’ve tried a few drugstore mascaras and I just don’t see the results that I want.
Maybelline- TattooStudio Waterproof Eyebrow Gel / Total Temptation Brow Definer – I have thin eyebrows, so I like to fill them to make them a bit thicker. The brow definer isn’t too creamy but doesn’t require too much work to blend out and make less harsh. I use the volumizer to set my brows, but I also use that when I don’t have time to fill my brows.
bareMinerals- Bareskin Serum Concealer – This is my go to concealer, it creases the least out of all concealers I’ve tried. I have lines under my eyes so it’s bound to crease. It doesn’t oxidize or dry down to a darker shade which is a big plus.
Tarte- Bronzer Park Ave Princess – I love this bronzer, I first tried it after I received a sample size and had to buy it. It’s the perfect shade and doesn’t look too harsh (as long as I use a light hand.
Physician’s Formula Vintage Rouge – Probably the only blush that it doesn’t matter if I do a heavy hand or light. It’s a pretty shade and looks great when I use foundation (powder or liquid), or a no makeup day and just want to add some color to my cheeks.
Too Faced Primed & Poreless – I use this to make sure my sunglasses won’t leave marks on my nose. The pressed powder does something (no idea what lol), so the marks sunglasses leave are less prominent. Usually it’s super noticeable but when I used the powder it’s very subtle!
Smashbox Setting Spray – Since I’ve been on a powder foundation kick this setting spray has helped make all the powder products look less powdery. Sometimes it just looks like I used powder products, the setting spray makes everything “mold” together and just sit on the skin beautifully.
I kind of stopped with the project pan over the summer because wearing makeup when it felt like it was just melting off, wasn’t worth it. So I’m extending the project pan, and using it as a shop my own makeup / use all my makeup project. The Milani makeup is definitely coming to California with me, the purple / smokey is going to be perfect for my mom and I so it’s fewer makeup that needs to be packed!
The products that I shared besides Milani are my go-to makeup picks. When I want to look my best, and have the makeup stay on through work to dinner out. I’m excited I was able to test out the Milani makeup for almost two months and enjoy having fun with the eyeshadow and different colors that I was able to try.
