Friday-
I worked majority of the day which wasn’t bad at all the day went incredibly fast which is always great. After work I relaxed and than my mum, CA and I went to a graduation party for my mums co worker. It was fun to see someone I’ve known since he was born graduate high school and heading to college this fall. The food was the most delicious part, it was Hispanic food which is ALWAYS good (to me at least), some yellow rice and yummy chicken. They had a great DJ who played a mix of Hispanic music and other music, we stayed for a few hours and we headed home.

Saturday-
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!! It wasn’t the sunniest of days which isn’t terrible but with a BBQ happening later in the day any rain would dampen it for sure.
(Inside the house at my cousin’s, it was SO nice!)
I had a relaxing morning, made breakfast like usual and got things ready to make a family favorite, Taco Salad! I pulled out my camera Canon DSLR EOS 60D, to take some shots for a recipe post that will be live on Thursday! Prior 4th of July parties my mom and I would make a giant bowl of taco salad to bring and it would be the FIRST thing everyone grabbed also being the first thing that was gone. Its a simple dish, and can be easily doubled for larger parties.
The BBQ was at 4 and it was mostly my family and a few people I didn’t know. Food was delicious and the company even better, was able to quickly catch up with everyone and just catch up on life. I spent some time with my younger cousins who are for the most party “grown ups” and I still can’t get past them being in high school or have graduated and in college!
Before long we were watching the firework show that was happening on the front lawn. Many more laughs and a little bit of reminiscing happened between the family, we used to have a very epic 4th of July party each year when I was growing up and this party was exactly that… just perfect.
Sunday-
Late wake up, with a large side of practicing picture taking, and for breakfast my pancakes! I have been learning how to shoot in complete 100% manual mode on the fancy hot DSLR camera. It was a beautiful day , the sun was shinning and at 8 am proceeded to be perfect for taking pictures. I also played around with 3 different lenses I had lying around but never used because I didn’t know how to properly use them, but the bigger reason I had zero patience to learn HOW to use them. They turned out to be easier to learn that I thought and they were fun to switch out and test.
(This picture was taken with my EOS 60D and a Spark Lens it is a “smooshy” looking lens)
Breakfast was yummy pancakes, and than CA and I decided to get our butts in gear and get ready for a day at the beach. We headed out with our friend “D” around 10:30 and settled into the beach named Gilgo around 11:30 ish (we stopped along the way and had to go a different route because of traffic). I actually typed the majority of this post at the beach, don’t get me wrong I LOVE the beach, it is only 30 minutes away from my house but I get bored quickly if I don’t end of falling asleep. So I brought my brand new kindle fire (courtesy of my aunt) and a blue tooth keyboard, so once I got bored of actually reading I could type up the post for Weekend Recap with ease!
(This is my dog, he’s a Newfoundland mix black lab, he’ll be 11 y/o November 17th; To get him to “pose” he was bribed with 2 bones and a bacon treat LOL)
(This was my view from my beach chair; nice waves, away from the water but close enough to dip my feet)
After the beach, we headed back to our area, I dropped off CA & “D” to have a “manly” BBQ, I wanted to do blogging stuff and also upload all my pictures. Plus I needed a shower after the beach, I also get very tired after going to the beach for a couple hours.
I hope everyone had a fun but SAFE 4th of July!
Ya’ll are so adorable and so is your furry baby. I have always loved black labs.
