I’m hitting reset on my lifting and running programs, with the help of Smoothie King and #ChangeAMeal, find read on for why!
It’s now even closer to my wedding day, which is ultimately a scary thought! I am not looking to lose all the weight I want before the wedding, but I do know that I can definitely lose the weight that will make me happier on my wedding day. It’s going to take a lot of hard work but it’s possible. I am starting a brand new program that I was suppose to start already. Things happened and I couldn’t get motivated, although having a wedding dress to fit into should be motivation enough. This new program, is called Valor by Ashley Horner. It is an 8 week program, with workouts 5 days a week just busting your butt to do everything possible. I will also be doing a running program, because I know my body needs the cardio as well as the weight lifting.
My diet will be a little more of clean eating rather than IIFYM. I know my body can lose weight on the IIFYM aspect but to really make sure I don’t fall off the wagon and have too many cheat days which happens all too often. I am good with not drinking soda or alcohol, but it’s more the regular food and the snacks. This is basically what happens: I have a few good days where I eat the right way, right portions, and than I have a cheat day but the cheat day turns into cheats days, weekends, and just completely off the wagon. Therefore, I am going back to what I have done before: intaking low carbs, drinking shakes in the morning, eating correct portions with less fried, and more grilled options, and overall making healthier choices. Having a indulgence once or maybe twice a week is okay–as long as I stay on track.
I know it’s not always easy staying on track, especially while traveling, or while going out with friends or my fiance. Obviously, most people know that I am getting married, so if I have to eat healthy it’s an easy mission and not much effort. One place that I recently discovered that makes healthy smoothies is Smoothie King! Now it’s definitely not what you are thinking, unless you are thinking it sounds like a place to grab some really delicious and healthy drinks! They don’t just have the run of the mill smoothies; their categories include: fitness blends, slim blends, wellness blends, take a break blends, and even kid’s cups. The flavors that are in each category have plenty of choices. I was glad to try the Gladiator Strawberry smoothie. It has Strawberry Gladiator Protein flavor and fresh strawberries and bananas. I loved all the flavors coming together and there was no aftertaste, which is always a win in my book. The really great thing is that there’s no way to go wrong with the selection. If you are going to the gym you can get a slim blend- Lean1 Chocolate. If you are coming from a really awesome workout and don’t want to ruin it with junk food, get a fitness blend one like the Gladiator Chocolate.
I honestly love when establishments help you make a healthier choice, nothing too expensive, and all under 400 calories. There is a category for everyone and a flavor to meet your palate visit the Smoothie King site here and tell me which flavor you’d like to get the most? Weight loss is dependent on each individual’s needs and is based on a low-calorie diet combined with an exercise program. Consult your physician before beginning any diet program.
Good luck with your new program. Your lifting will definitely help you improve your running. I know from personal experience. My half marathon time has come down drastically with very little training (running).
