I’m new to the blogging scene as to trying to do it everyday. But I figured I’d give anyone that reads this a bit of inside to who I am; why not right?
I’d like to introduce you to my better half- Anthony: he and I grew up in the same town, 4 blocks away, same high school, and last November (2012) we started to talk. Went on our first date December 4th to a Sushi Restaurant. Liki Sushi is a regular place of ours to visit for some extremely yummy sushi. Only be a town over it was not only convenient but right in town to pass by ice cream on the way home.
Dating right before the holiday season was interesting to say the least, I got to know him, his 2 brothers, and his parents, Aunt and Grandma; along with Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Spent the later part of Christmas Day with his family and had a blast, and he gave me my first present which was very much a surprise. It was a stuffed Dog with a scarf, hot chocolate and chocolate. The dog was my favorite; We than proceeded to also spend NYE with my crazy cousins and their friends, what a blast that night was!
It amazed me how much I never had to worry about him not having a good time, everyone that was there took to him immediately and he made friends talked, danced and just had a grand old time. In which I did as well, sang (badly I might add), danced with him, had a little impromptu dance off, and than counted down to 1 as we all watched the ball drop at Times Square. Little did I know how much he would have instilled himself in my life.
Eight months later and so many memories I am so glad I responded to that Facebook message of heyyyy. Everyone says “you are the best thing that has happened to me” about their S/O and usually it’s true. When I say it, he basically showed me that good guys DO exist and they are very rare; and usually include rare, hilarious, and unique personalities. I’ve had my fair share of bad exes like most women have and starting a new one was a bit scary, but he showed me how to relax, just let things be as they may, and go with the flow. If you know me at ALL that is SO not me, I have a bad case of OCD and need to be in control at ALL times, and have basically my life planned out 2-5 years in advance depending on the topic.
Anthony IS my better half because he makes ME a better person; how do I mean that? After some not so pleasant news from my doctor I went on a weight loss adventure. Or as I now call it GTFO Weight adventure cause once this weight is lost it is NOT finding it’s way back to my body. I started in March, but really went gun-ho with it in April. Since than I have lost 55lbs and counting; what is the best part of this GTFO adventure? Having HIM by my side, he believes in me, he pushes me to be the best that I can be. He takes into account that I no longer drink alcohol, have sweets, eat junk food and I am basically eating healthier. We still go out to places but I make sure I get the healthiest thing possible on the menu OR if it’s my cheat day I have what I want WITHIN reason. He’s 110% supportive of my adventure and has even proved it many times over; How? He has seen me race two 5Ks without him participating in them and has ran two 5Ks “with me”- I use “” because he runs faster than I do and he’s waiting at the finish line cheering me on.
And that is us. The first picture is from us at my cousins Wedding. The Second is us on the ice of the Islanders Hockey team to win a prize (we came in second). The Third is us at The Dugout which 2 people (can’t remember their names) Anthony had made friends with while waiting for me to arrive {some insight Anthony is a Mets, Jets, Islanders fan while I am a Yankees, Giants, Rangers fan}. The Fourth is from the same wedding. Fifth is from a Mets game where I am wearing a Met’s shirt BUT it’s for Harvey so I can’t deny that cutie of support while they aren’t playing the Yankees ;). (the 5th is also most recent).
I am truly blessed to have him as a boyfriend just because he is literally the MOST supportive man I have ever met. He doesn’t mind if I have to run before we go out, or if I can’t stay over because I have to run in the morning. He loves that I am active and getting healthier and I can’t wait to get to my goal with because it’ll make it even more amazing that I’ve had an amazing guy by my side the entire time cheering me on.
