Does anyone else need a “push” to get into the holiday spirit? Just me? Maybe? Maybe not? Unlike my loving husband… it takes me a while to get into the holiday spirit. Since 2013 CA and I have been sending out holiday cards together, usually picking the style that “spoke” to us or something that just looked cool.
I’ve thought about getting pictures professionally done for the holidays, but by the time you need to have them taken, and get them back and then order the cards. Knowing me… it wouldn’t be until after Christmas that people got their cards; I kid you not. I always have the best intentions to get everything done and out on time, but do I? Nope, not even a little bit, luckily CA is the other half of my brain and keeps things running smoothly. You know the phrase “if my head weren’t attached to my body I’d lose it?” that’s me… 55% of the time.
Wow really got off topic, didn’t I? The one thing I do look forward to during the holidays is baking cookies! It’s been a long tradition with my mom, myself and my aunt, also my grandmother before she passed. So the 3 of us still bake cookies, CA is our taste tester, as well as Thor even though he loves everything! I also love love love getting and displaying holiday cards from our friends and family; it’s so much fun seeing friends’ growing up with their new families, and seeing families change as the kids get older and ya know all adult stuff. I think the most fun part of getting them sees what theme or design they went with and if it fits their personalities as we know them.
Luckily when you chose Minted to shop for your holiday cards as we did, you’ll have so many options! I knew of Minted when I was looking for our Save the Dates and all other wedding necessities; the possibilities blew my mind. Just like then it’s always good when you know what you’re looking for, or just what you like. If you took professional pictures, maybe you have 2-5 that you like that you want to share. Or if you’re like us and use photos from that year and chose the favorites, which means around 3-4 pictures. You can narrow your search down by no pictures, a select number of images, occasion, theme, & style! I knew that I wanted something shiny (for lack of better word) for our cards, and oh my gosh is it shiny! The Most Wonderful Foil-Pressed Holiday Card is a foil pressed card; I picked the color rose gold because to me that was the color that popped the most “off” the card. It looks so beautiful in person, and I love the pictures that we picked. We had to have our fur baby Thor on their, and the one photo is from the USA World Cup game, and the other one was from my BIL/SIL wedding.
I’ll be honest, CA wanted something different, but this card was just so perfect, and so pretty I honestly couldn’t pass it up! After a little arm twisting, we ordered and approved the cards, and we even added our return mailing address (SCORE!). I picked the smooth finish as the “paper, ” and it helps the foil play with the light if you move the card around in the light. I couldn’t believe how quickly they arrived at our house and they came out perfectly. We ordered plenty and may have 1 or 2 leftover cards because usually, I save one for us to keep as a memory.
Did you know, besides wedding & holiday cards you can also get décor from Minted!? I was able to grab brand new stockings for everyone, and I love the designs and how unique each stocking is, and they’re all beautifully personalized! I even grabbed one for Thor because he’s part of the family, and I think he approved, he sniffed and sneezed on it making it his. That’s what that means right? He sniffs, he sneezes, and that means he approves.. in dog language? LOL.
You can get the same holiday card I got, don’t forget to check out the amazing collection of stockings they have, and other holiday cards!
