I thought this would be a fun post to share right after I came back from my cruise! I am an over packer, I would rather have too much over too little, but on a cruise ship that means a crowded cabin. Since this is my 6th cruise I’ve realized that I don’t need to bring everything, and this includes beauty products. I really focused on what I use daily and what I would need for formal nights as well.
The only thing that is different from cruise to cruise is what you’re doing during the day. When we went on our honeymoon we were in Europe, there was only one day we were on the beach. So every morning I wore some type of makeup, except the day we went to the beach. This is opposite to a Caribbean cruise, where you’re going to the beach each day, or you’re sitting out by the pool on sea days. Which basically means I don’t wear any makeup at all, it’s just sunscreen and out the door we go.
Makeup:
The amount of makeup you bring can depend on what you use daily. If you like having a full face of makeup then you’ll need all those products. But, if you just wear the minimum amount of makeup, maybe mascara, eyeliner, lipstick and eyebrow pencil, then you only need that.
What I bring with me:
IT Cosmetics Face Primer – Since we’re in the Caribbean this will hopefully help the foundation stay on my face.
Maybelline Eyebrow Pencil – I have thin brows, so I fill them in with this pencil, it’s so close to the actual shade of my brows!
Maybelline Eyebrow Setter – this doesn’t MOVE at all, it’s perfect for a night on the ship without touching up.
IT Cosmetics Powder Foundation – light coverage, and just enough to balance out my skin but without applying actual foundation. This came in handy when I was getting ready and we were both hungry LOL
IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream – I love this because it can be sheared out or full coverage. Since I have these I might as well use them. (Part of the beauty no buy).
Wet n’ Wild Foundation – This is a much lighter color than I need but this will help lighten the color from IT cosmetics if I need it. Since IT makeup tends to be more yellow the pink in the WW foundation balances it out!
bareMinerals Concealer – I use this under the powder foundation, I have some dark circles so that’s the only way they’ll be covered with powder foundation.
Too Faced Setting Powder – If I’m using the concealer I set it by itself. But if I used the cream I’ll set my jawline, my under eyes, smile lines and forehead.
Blush – These two are beautiful shades, one needs to be used before it expires. The Tarte is a sample and is going to expire soon the IT cosmetics is better over the CC + Cream.
Tarte Bronzer – I use a fluffy brush just to warm up my face after applying foundation. I have this shade in a compact but this palette is due to expire soon, so why not sue it!
ColourPop Highlighter – I love highlighter, on my cheeks, cupids bow, and the bridge of my nose.
IT Cosmetics Eyeliner – I line my water lines around my eyes, that’s it. This doesn’t budge at all, it also doesn’t wear off on my eyeliner either. It’s a holy grail product for me hands down.
Eye Shadow – I’m bringing two palettes and the Urban Decay Born to Run palette is perfect to create a few different looks. The Colourpop Dream Street is SUPER pretty and I just had to bring it.
IT Cosmetics Mascara – I am bringing a few samples I just received my Christmas purchases but also my go to for mascara. IT Cosmetics Superhero, I use it daily.
Too Faced Setting Spray – With either foundation I’ll apply this before I apply the other face products.
Like I mentioned, what you bring with you will depend on what you use daily. Most work days I don’t wear eye shadow but the other products I use daily! What I use on the ship will be determined by how much time I leave myself to get ready.
This list is just a jumping off point, if you want to add more products or use anything different. These products I’ve been using for the past month so I like how they all perform and trust that they’ll hold up on my cruise!
