Once again, I’ve fallen off the “I need to get in shape” wagon. I became so focused on trying to reach my weight loss long term goal instead of setting short term goals. I am a very visual person, which is good and bad. The bad part is that I get tunnel vision and if I don’t see results right away (which no one ever does), or something isn’t coming as easy as it did other people (or so I assumed), I quit. Yes I said it, I quit more times than I care to share, but fall down 7 times, get up 8. Even though my gym & running have lapsed greatly, my trouble is the eating aspect. I am not a junk food person, it’s not my “vice”. I just love food. The method that’s worked for me many times over, is portion control. That way you aren’t eliminating any particular food group; i.e., carbs, chocolate, desserts. You get healthy portions of all the food groups, with snacks included! This is why I love what Jenny Craig and the new Fresh & Free additions has to offer when you become a member.
Jenny Craig takes the guess work, prep work, and the meal planning, off your plate (pun intended) and into the hands of your personal consultant. Whether you go into a Jenny Craig location, or utilize their phone or video chat, they are there to help you on your journey to the new you! I love that you have someone already in your “corner” helping you, being there from the beginning of your journey, during the hard times and great times! The biggest appeal to me about Jenny Craig is the nutritionally balanced menu planned for you. Also, you have the option of picking the food up from a location or having it shipped to you. With working a 9 to 5 job, having Thor, a social life, and a new husband, I find it hard sometimes to cook! I love to cook, but sometimes after a long day at work, the last thing I want to do, is cook. If there isn’t leftovers or if the meal wasn’t started by my husband, I am the first one to suggest grabbing fast food; which will hinder the weight loss process, therefore, not being a good option. Here to the rescue are your meals, ready and waiting for you to heat up, a delicious dish from Jenny Craig!
I love that Jenny Craig has food that I already eat in my daily life on their menu. It makes it more appealing, it’s not something I dislike or bland; It’s delicious, and it’s healthy, which is a win win in my book! I also like that you eat 6 times a day, 3 meals and 3 snacks, so you’re never starving or waiting impatiently for your next meal. I sit at a desk Monday-Friday, and I’ll admit sometimes I eat because it’s a “slow” time. The worst that happens is when someone brings in something I LOVE, which is anything that contains chocolate! Jenny Craig has thought of that as you get 3 snacks for the day. For someone who snacks when they’re bored, this is PERFECT. I can still snack, but it’s healthier, which leads to no feeling of guilt after eating said snack.
I had the pleasure of being selected to go to Jenny Craig Tasting Event in NYC, but unfortunately I was unable to go. On a positive note, I was sent some amazing food to sample! The food that was sent was a part of her fall foods and Fresh & Free additions, and oh my gosh is it delicious! I’ll admit my favorite meal was the Chicken Street Tacos! This girl loves her tacos & burritos, so this made my Hispanic side do a little, well, a big dance. There was 2 tacos in the meal, so it could be eaten for lunch or dinner. I chose lunch because I wanted to try it ASAP and that was my next meal. It was only 230 calories (win!), it also contained 4g fiber (win!), and 12g protein (win!). My second favorite was the Szechuan Shrimp, it resembled something I’d get from take out with less calories, and so much healthier for you at 230 calories, 4g fiber, and 12g protein.
With the Fresh & Free additions from Jenny Craig, you can eat more & still lose weight (GASP), you what?! This will blow your mind–you can eat MORE. This is huge for me because, hello, I love to eat! Here’s the low down, the Jenny Craig Premium Entrees will be the basis for your meals. To balance out your meals, you can add in your favorite fruits, vegetables & dairy into your plans. You’ll be eating the same amount of food, but since it’s fewer calories, you’ll feel fuller longer and be more likely to lose weight! You won’t be going at this alone; your consultant will be there for you to answer questions and guide you down the healthier path. Same amount of food that is healthier for you, which will lead to possible weight loss, win!
I know first hand how hard weight loss is and I am so glad that Jenny Craig is there for everyone who wants to make the change to lose weight, be healthier, and reach their goals. They help you take out the guess work of the food, improve portion control, with all of your favorite foods included. My step mother swears by Jenny Craig. She doesn’t cook and works crazy hours at the hospital, so this is perfect for her.
Jenn Craig is an amazing service. Not only does it help with weight loss, it helps teach people how to continue on the right path after they’re finished.
Oh, that darn portion control! I keep forgetting I am not suppose to eat until I feel stuffed! It is hard to break that habit, but I need to fit into my suit in 4 weeks!
Thanks!
I was surprised by how good the Jenny Craig meals tasted. It isn’t like normal diet food at all, which is great.
I think these type of meals are absolutely perfect if you’re busy and looking to control your weight without any of the guess work. Plus I love szechuan shrimp!
Jenny Craig could be the solution, I just always wonder what happens once you stop eating their food and using their service. I have heard things both ways on this. How is the food do you like the taste? I think that for running all the time, this is the solution, just really curious what happens when you stop using them?
My sister in law loves their food. I haven’t tried it as yet-I like to cook, but would think this would be great for lunches on the run at work
Jenny Craig has been around for quite some time. Portion control is hard to remember most of the time when you’re so busy all day long and when it comes time to sit and eat.
Omg these meals look so yummy!!!! Who knew I would ever say that about a “diet” food!
I have heard good things about Jenny Craig. I think the one that helps is they are pre portioned and ready to eat when you want. It takes the thinking out of meal planning.
I’ve always wanted to try Jenny Craig foods. They look really good too. I love that it helps with portions. Those are one thing I really need to work on.
it’s so important to watch portion sizes when eating (if you want to loose wt, which many do!) looks like Jenny Craig is teaching valuable info to keep everyine on track.
Jenny Craig never fails to amaze me! I’ve used WW, and although it’s similar I think they all have their benefits! Great post! -Kendall
This is my husband’s biggest downfall in losing weight, he tend to do bigger portion sometimes.
I’m trying to get back on track and I’ll keep Jenny Craig in mind. I know several friends who have been trying this and are having great results with the portion control.
