I always want to go goals and post them on the blog to help keep me accountable. But usually when I get the time to post it, the month is either over already or halfway done, and it’s pointless. So yay! Still, the first week of the month and I’m getting this post up, go me! I am doing a 100 Day Blogging Challenge, where I am putting in at least 45 minutes of blogging work in each day. Whether it’s going towards a blog post, social shares, taking pictures, etc.3, all going towards blogging.
I started a new blogging challenge on July 1st, called 100 days of blogging, where you commit to blogging every day for at least 20 minutes. I set my time a little higher because I want to do more so I need more time each day to do those things.
Fitness & Health Goals:
–Running three times a week: I have three half marathons coming up in October, so this time around I want to train properly. Luckily, CA is my run coach to help me keep motivated and getting out there. He’s run with me once already, and I know if I ask him to again he’ll come out again. Running at least three times a week will keep me on track for my training, I may add in the 4th day but three days is perfect for my July goals.
–Going to the Gym 4 times a week: I recently lost my sole mate C, she was in a bad car accident, and currently can’t go to the gym. So this will be hard for me to get to the gym so I’ll be motivated to cross this goal out when August rolls around.
–Making healthier choices: This isn’t too hard for me, but I do have a tendency to snack late at night or when I’m bored. Luckily I have healthy snacks in the house, and I’m setting other goals that will help with my boredom. Also, drinking less soda, more water, and lemonade.
–Cutting down grams of Carbs: So I’ve been researching a new “diet” that has risen that has helped many people lose weight. You drop your carbs down, bring up healthy fats, and protein. It’s the Keto diet, and I’ve been slowly cutting back on my carbs. I love bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc., etc., all the carbs… YUM. So I’m cutting back on how many times a day I eat those carbs. I eat mostly salads with romaine lettuce, cheese, bacon bits, chicken for lunch. Breakfast is a Shake; I have different powders to use, so I’m going to continue using them for mornings. At night, I make sure my portion is smaller than what I would usually take.
–Self Love: I currently loathe how I look. I am now working on losing the weight, looking and feeling better. But I also know I need to love who I am now, the work in progress. It’s all a giant work in progress, so this will be a long slow process.
Blogging Goals:
–Post at least 2 times a week: This goes in with the 100 Day Blogging Challenge, blogging two days a week, consistency in order to organically grow my readers and views. I feel good about this goal; I have my editorial calendar filled up with ideas and know I can easily write about these topics.
–Keep Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest Shares going: I use Buffer, Hootsuite, and Tailwind for these three social channels. I use missinglettr to keep Twitter & Facebook sharing my old blog posts, the previous 27 posts. Tailwind is excellent for Pinterest; It helps you schedule out pins for days/weeks, you can also share other people’s pins. It also had tribes that you can share from on your schedule.
–Post on Instagram 4 times a week: In one of the courses I signed up for it shares Instagram prompts, to give you ideas to post about! I love that it gives you ideas about what to post about, it says the prompt and gives a short sentence to get the ideas rolling around in your head.
–Start & Finish courses for blogging: I’ve signed up for plenty of blogging courses that help you with certain aspects, Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook (which is evil), Instagram (owned by Facebook = also evil), SEO, growing viewership and more. Others are monthly subscriptions with different favorite bloggers of mine, as well as Copywriting and Photoshop/Lightroom.
Life Goals:
–Read 2 books: I LOVE reading, I have that $10/month subscription to Amazon for endless reading. You can borrow 10 books a month, and you can keep it as long as you’d like. And just return/borrow as often as you’d like within that month. I have a few old faithful books that are printed, and I’ll probably read those first because they’re my favorites.
–Unplug at least one to hours a day: Being a blogger, I’m on my phone, or laptop most of the day (plus I work on a computer 9-5 at my day job). So I’d like to unplug more often, spend some time with CA, Thor my family, without my phone being looked at regularly. I am hoping that reading books will help with being unplugged as well as not being bored.
–Walk Thor at least three times a week: Thor is a little over a year old and he’s got so much energy, so walking him helps work off some energy. Luckily he loves going on walks, and the collar we have helps him pull less.
–House Hunting & Debt: I’m not sure if I shared that we are house hunting? Well, ya that’s SO much fun. Ick. Well it’s really not horrible but it’s frustrating, you have a vision, and any house meeting that vision is so much more expensive, boo. We’re getting out of debt as well, paying it off before we purchase a home. I’ve recently found a few houses that I do like a lot, minor issue is that they’re a little further out than what I’d like BUT the price is great, and we get more land. I’ll take it.
Woohoo! I did it! What are your goals for this month? Can you believe that the year is HALF over, like it’s GONE, it’s never coming back. Okay, a tad dramatic but still, it’s JULY, JUUUULY. Ugh. I love that it’s summer but not that the year is half over. Okay vent over! Share your goals with me, we can conquer them together! Solidarity Sisters!
