*I will not harp on the COVID-19 issue, but most of my blog posts were written before all of the chaos that is now our lives. So I will be sharing certain blog posts that I feel are appropriate to what’s currently going on. I need a distraction from the chaos so this is it, I hope it can provide some type of distraction for you as well*
I honestly can’t believe it’s March already. January felt long but also short because we went on vacation the 24th, so half of January was getting prepared for the cruise. Then February was riddled with sickness, CA had the flu, then I had some sort of sinus issues. Now, onto actually recapping what I’ve been up to!
January & February : Since 2 months have already passed, I’ll just consolidate it down.
Life: Besides vacation, I’ve been prepping for the 2 weddings I’m in. I have a wedding this September that CA is also in, and then next March. The bridal shower and bachelorette for the one in September are in June/July. Then I have the bachelorette for the one in March in August, and the bridal shower is in October. Since Brey (March wedding), lives in Philly and four of her bridesmaids are out of town we tried to space things out. I am technically out of town but I’m only a 2.5 hour drive away.
We’re still house hunting, Long Island is (still) expensive, so we’re trying to find that house we can afford but it’s also not going to fall down if a gust of wind comes. It’s a process, for sure. We’re paying off credit card debt, and just being smart with any purchases we make. Which is why the no beauty buy has actually helped a great deal.
Blog: After my cruise I was really excited to come home and blog about cruising. Not turning my blog into all about cruising but have a day dedicated to travel only. Which is what I’ve been doing except last week, I’ve been sharing everything about travel. Right now it’s mostly cruise related but it’ll transfer into all travel related on Fridays. The travel series is currently on hold due because of COVID-19, once everything settles I will be restarting it.
I’ve also invested into SEO tools, that I can implement into my old blog posts as well as future blog posts. SEO is how people can find me on google, and the higher you rank the more page views you have! I’ve never concentrated on it, so this is a whole new world for me but I know it needs to be done.
I’ve also been working on getting things with Pinterest, where I Pin things that are trending which also helps. I can see what I should be working on content wise or at least pinning.
I’ve got a few brand partnerships going on behind the scenes. Some things need to be approved before going live as well as things that just haven’t happened yet. I am working on becoming consistent with my blog and work with brands that lineup with my brand and what I want to bring to my followers. I’m excited for what’s in the works, and for the upcoming months!
What’s Next:
Even though we’re already in March… The first weekend we went to Rock Hill, NY for CA’s 7th half marathon. Rock Hill is an upstate, and truly the best part of the entire thing? The hotel we stay at is where the start and finish are! So I can just see him take off, go back to our room, and then go back outside when he’s close to finishing!
At the end of March we were supposed to head to DC but with everything going on and a few tours being canceled PLUS not knowing what will be going on in a few weeks. We decided to cancel (on 3/6) and hopefully go to DC later this year or just go next year. Anthony’s race is going to be either in the fall or next year, since he ref’s soccer in the fall we usually don’t plan anything. We already have a wedding, plus Brey’s bridal shower (which means I wouldn’t be able to go with him), so if Rock n Roll let’s him he’ll defer to 2021 if need be. I was really excited to go, we had a few tours that we weren’t able to do in 2017, but can’t control everything right?
As of right now, we’ve got a NYC staycation at the end of May, a trip to the Catskills coming up, and I have a mom/daughter trip to Cape Cod in June. Those 3 are still happening as of right now, since they’re further out.
Where I went:
In January into the first two days of February CA and I went on our 6th cruise together. We started in Miami, cruised to La Romana-DR, Grand Turk, Curacao & Aruba. It was 8 full days of blissful vacation, we had an amazing time and it got my creative juices flowing.
February- We went to NJ to go on the NYC helicopter ride with FlyNYON. I wrote about our entire experience here, it was COLD but just insanely amazing.
The weekend after we headed to Philly to see my friend Brey, who’s getting married next March, and I’m her MOH. She found her wedding dress, and we planned in a little more detail her upcoming bridal shower and bachelorette party.
We also went to Rhode Island to visit my SIL who’s pregnant with my niece! Luckily she was feeling okay enough to go out to lunch and have some fun at Dave & Busters.
Favorite Purchases:
GloPro – I’ve used this a small handful of times, but microneedling I’ve done once a week with a tool I got from Amazon. I copied this from the QVC website for the GloPro: GloPRO is a patented facial tool with interchangeable attachments designed to help exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells to help brighten its appearance, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and helping skin appear firmer more luminous and refined. I’m excited to see the difference especially since there’s an eye and lip tool I can use that I haven’t yet.
Trophy Skin – This is something brand new, I’ve used it 4 times but I do like how it’s very easy to use. The instructions are simple so you can follow them easily, and there’s a sensitive tool and setting so it gets your skin used to what you’re doing with it. I’ve used the Diamond Tip twice and the Pore Extraction tip twice. I’ve noticed the most difference with the diamond tip, with how smooth my skin is after I do that!
10” Ring Light- I have an 18” ring light but it’s gigantic and with the limited space I can’t keep it up all the time. The 10” one is small enough to keep up, and whenever I need it I can use it. It’s bright enough to take selfies or photos, especially with the Spring coming. The longer sun hours will obviously help me when I’m filming anything.
Everything that is going on right now is brand new territory for anyone to try and navigate through. It took me a while to realize I still needed to blog, it’s a creative outlet for me to get through all of my anxiety that I am working through. I hope that if you’re at home you’re making the most of it, and if you’re still able to work keep safe!
I loved this update! Sorry that you had to cancel your plans. We had to cancel our anniversary trip 🙁 Also, good luck on your home search! Sending you positive thoughts <3

I’m so glad you got a chance to enjoy that cruise before everything happened with this virus. And I REALLY hope you get to still enjoy those travel plans and weddings you’ve been preparing for over the next several months. It’s hard to be travel-ready and then unable to go and actually… travel! Wishing you all the best for these following months!
