I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend!!
Friday night CA had a Mets game with his uncle so I picked up my race packet and just came home to rest. Did some tentative guest list for the engagement party & actual wedding. I printed out some stuff for “wedding planners” that have a timeline and all that jazz which will definitely help me a lot.
Saturday-
Saturday morning I had a 4 Miler for a fallen Marine, it is called “I did the grid” 4 miler. He was killed in combat in 2007 & this run is done in his honor and all fallen service men and women. Each runner or walker has 4 servicemen/women on their bibs and at the end of the race you ring the bell 4 times in honor of them. It’s extremely moving, and emotional because this race you don’t do for YOU you do it for the people who lost their lives so you could have the freedom to run. Best feeling ever actually, even though I DID run 3 mins faster…. I knew it had to do with my 4 Angels pushing me through it.
That afternoon CA and I had a Mets game to go to, we went a bit early to pick up a canvas print of David Wright. It rained a bit so it wasn’t as nice as we had hoped it would be, but it worked.
After the Mets lost…. again, we headed to TGI Fridays to have dinner, CA had 2 coupons, one for a free app and the other for free entree. Not bad right? We talked a little wedding, and I am so glad we are on the same page with everything 🙂
Sunday-
Sunday after making breakfast and relaxing CA went golfing than we headed to my cousin Jon & Pam’s apartment. Jon is in the FD and we had a cute little boy at the party so he got the fire truck and of course, play with the hose and had the lights going. We stayed at the house from the afternoon til about 10pm, we had a BLAST, just hanging out getting some sun and enjoying our friends.
Monday-
Myself and CA at the beach on Monday, we live about 20 mins from the ocean and are total beach bums. It wasn’t TOO warm on the water but it was so nice to get some sun and just relax and listen to the ocean. The beach was built back to where it used to be before the hurricanes took 3/4 of our beach. We stayed for about 3 hours, we had a BBQ at his house that we were a little late for but we did get to see his family and hang out for a bit.
We hung out after the BBQ and caught up on 24, we were a little behind but caught up quickly…. the possibilities of DVR and the fast forward button LOL
Monday night, I painted my nails, I got this little french manicure set and decided to give it a go. Luckily it came with the little stickers that help make the line so straight. I did need to clean up the sides a little bit but I like the fact that I can do them my self and don’t have to pay for them to be done anymore.
It sounds like you had a really fun weekend! I wish they had given out the Wright canvas painting at the game I was there for. I wanted that so badly. lol.
What an awesome weekend! What a wonderful run that you participated in!
It was such a great run to do, I felt so amazing doing the run, even though I couldn't breathe for half of it a very good friend who is faster than me ran with me and kept pushing me too. Thanks!
It's such an awesome canvas print too! I love it, small enough to fit in our bag that we bring too so we didn't have to carry it.
