Packing Weekend Getaway Essentials

In honor of my trip to the Poconos this weekend with CA, and a few of our crazy friends I’m sharing what my weekend getaway essentials are. CA and I do a few getaway weekends a year, whether it’s to Six Flags (since we’re season pass holders), visiting friends, or doing weekend trips. So I’ve tried my best to “master” the art of packing as “lightly” as possible, but let’s face it I’m a girl, I always over pack. Especially in the winter, spring, fall, summer, because ya know I like my options. I have my go to bag, Vera Bradley Grand Traveler Travel Bag, it’s perfectly, huge, spacious. It’s got 2 short handles, as well as one LONG handle to make it a crossbody so it’s perfect. On the inside it has- two slip pockets in back and a large pocket underneath the front magnetic flap and four large slip pockets inside.

So now that you know all about my bag, what do I always pack?! Well since I’ve been on a kick to lose weight I’ve always brought my workout clothes, as well as much needed necessities that always need to be packed. I like working out at least one of the days we are away, it makes me feel less “guilty” about any indulgences we have. Plus it’s like hey I burned calories, plus usually we are walking miles, or jumping up and down so it’s all worth it.

Gym Clothes-

Capris, Tank, Sports Bra, Sneakers, Fitbit Blaze, headphones and sneakers (usually I wear them).

Clothes/Layers- winter time

Leggings (I LIVE in these), flannel shirts, tanks, under garments, socks, “fancy” shirt for dinner out, 1 pair of jeans.

Essentials-

Contact lens case, glasses, hair ties, and anything else that is person specific.
