So Morgan from Believe in the Sparks had a post about Valentine’s Day… actually about HATING Valentine’s Day! But that’s okay, cause it IS a over played holiday, VERY expensive to go OUT! Flowers are expected from ALL boyfriends, chocolates (FYI Le boyfriend… you get my chocolates I KEEEL you!), a present in the form of jewelry or something else expensive, and ALL the romance your butt can muster up!
Jeez that was just tiring to WRITE! So glad the girls don’t have the pressure to impress our men like that! WHEW! Well Personally… I LOVE Valentine’s Day. And no, it’s not because of the presents, the flowers, or the fancy expensive as shit dinner out. It’s because of what I used to witness on Valentine’s Day growing up in my house.
In my house, my Grandfather’s favorite holiday… was Valentine’s Day; he also asked my Grandmother to be his wife that day… many years ago. On that holiday ONLY, he got my Grandmother roses, a present, a HUGE box of chocolates and dinner. Christmas wasn’t big, Easter was ok, Anniversary was good too, but Valentine’s Day… was the BEST. I also used to get a miniature version of her chocolates along with a single red rose… because I was my grandfathers baby…. turned “Little One” (which is tattoo’d on my right side).
This Valentine’s day will be special, I have Le boyfriend; and he is “the one” especially if you read this post things are getting wedding very serious. So yes we are going out to dinner to one of my favorite restaurants, and yes I’ll be getting a great present (cause he doesn’t give anything less than awesome). But what really matters to ME is that I get to spend my night with him, get to go out to dinner with him, I get to DRESS UP! In my faaaaaaaabulous red dress that I got taken in cause it was so big.
So I am one of the people that LOVES Valentine’s Day… but it’s not exactly for the reason you are thinking of 😉

Love that Valentine's Day is special for your family. It was never a big deal in mine although my dad always left us flowers or a treat.
Aww this is so sweet! It's rare to find a man who loves VDay, and the fact that that man is your grandfather makes this pull at my heart strings even more!

I like Valentine's Day. Even though I'm single, I love making packages to send to my nieces and nephews and I always buy my mom and dad cards and I get a little gift for my mom. This year, I got her the Frozen soundtrack because I know she had been wanting that and she loved it.

My boyfriend and I didn't over do it last night either, we had our anniversary dec 4 than christmas which were big so we toned it down a bit. I like going out to a fancy dinner so it was even more fun.
