I remember the first run I EVER did, it was the LIMA (Long Island MacArthur Airport) 5K Run for the Veterans, it was in support for all veterans and the most moving part about the run was towards the end of the run, you had servicemen & women clapping for YOU, because you are running for them. It makes you thankful that you have your freedom because of the brave servicemen & women who protect our great nation.
Other races that I’ve participated in that helped the wounded warriors, or the servicemen & women are the Run around the Lake, I Did the Grid, & Run for the Warriors.
I love that my grandfather served in the US Navy in World War II in the Pacific Fleet, he used to tell me stories about his Navy days and being so tall in a battleship.
