Hi everyone (who’s still reading or who happens to see this!), I took a very unexpected hiatus from the blogging world. I couldn’t believe how LONG it’s been but things happen and I turned over a new leaf in life.
I joined….. the GYM.
I know that may not seem like a big deal, but for me it’s a HUGE one. I never LIKED going to the gym, it used to BORE me to death, and I was always very self conscious of my body. But now I love it, I wake up at 5 AM, and go kick butt and get things done ! I wanted to join the gym as an alternative for when it’s crappy weather I can still run at the gym. I signed up to get a free assessment for personal training, and found out I am pretty strong for a “big” girl (my term NOT the guys). So I signed up and paid for 3 sessions, and I got my butt WHOOPED, but I found that I LOVED to LIFT.
So now when I go to the gym, I by pass ALL cardio equipment and head for the “men” area, and rock it. I just started a new program called 5×5, and have incorporated other workouts as well. I will still be running each week to follow my half marathon training plan. Ever since I started lifting I am able to RUN better AND faster. I also completed my first ever 4 miler and ran under 60 mins!
I am hoping this “free writing” helps me get back into the swing of things with my blog, because I have actually MISSED it a lot. Connecting with the ladies but luckily I have plenty of y’all on Instagram and/or Twitter! I am looking forward to blogging more and going back to enjoy writing again.
