It’s February… when the heck did that happen? I swear we were JUST celebrating the new year… amirite?! Since we’re a month into the new year, how have your goals (or resolutions) been going? Have you met some, none, or all? I know one of my main goals, my biggest goal besides something for my blog was to lose weight. I finally got in my head that I needed to change my thought process and what it would take me to lose the weight and keep it off. I needed to lose the weight, for me, just me, not for anyone else, or any other reason but for me. I always thought if I was losing the weight for someone or something else, I’d want to lose it more, or I’d stick to the goal easier. That never….ever worked. What did and has worked is making the goal attainable, realistic, and most importantly for just myself. The reasons for me wanting to lose weight range from feeling better (more energy), more confidence, liking the way I look, all the way to health reasons. These are all great reasons, so let’s talk about how January was a major fail in weight loss.
I had every intention to go to the gym at 5 am, 4 days a week, doing cardio and lifting weights. I did that maybe 15 days out of the entire month of January. I also wanted to walk Thor at least 3 times a week, I walked him 0. I had a very blah month, I had no desire to workout or do anything remotely motivating. I knew that I needed to put my eating habits on point or it could start a downward spiral of all bad things. So I made a point to eat better and make better choices if I wanted a snack or if we went out to dinner. I drank more water, ate less junk food, we also ate out less, which meant home-cooked meals more often. Except for that one week, we ate out 4 days out of 7, and we very rarely do that, but it just worked out that CA and I went out Saturday night, then Monday night was with family, Wednesday night we went out for restaurant week, and Friday I had dinner with my girl Allie. Some weeks social life just takes over.
Anyway! Man, can I go on a rant sometimes! Onto something that has helped me stick to my goals, and I’m telling you right now, it’s nothing like I’ve ever talked about before. It’s a scale, but not just any scale, it’s the Nokia Body+ body composition Wi-Fi scale! This scale is something I’ve never seen before since it’s a WiFI scale it connects to an app called Health Mate! The Body+ displays a trend screen of your last 8 weigh-ins and automatically calculates BMI for an instant progress check-in so you can stay on top of your goals while getting the big picture on your health. This scale is great for the entire family too, it can hold up to 8 people, and even has special modes for babies and pregnancy! After you sync the scale to the app, you can weigh yourself and it’ll download all the information to the Health Mate app. The dashboard on the app gives you weight, BMI, body fat, muscle mass, body water, bone mass and the weather. On the app itself, it has the ability to take your pulse with the camera and flash on your phone! How cool is that?!
I’m just not comfortable for all of that info to be out…. which is why it’s all white besides my pulse
On the app it allows you to keep track of your progress by week, month, quarter or year! So, this scale can help you track your weight loss, as well as your fat loss & muscle gain. I love that this scale also has a long battery life, for up to 18 months! I feel that with this scale showing the fat and muscle, I can see exactly how my hard work is changing my body. And, if you haven’t noticed, how sleek this design is! I love that it’s white, it matches the furniture that we have in my office (it’s the same room that Thor’s crate is in). The two bookcases we have are white, and my drawers are also white that is attached to my desk, I also love all white furniture, think farmhouse decor with a touch of chic (that’s how my future home will look).
I desperately needed a pedicure….so I cropped out my toes lol.
This is how I am sticking and will be sticking to my new year goals. I am also going to be setting weekly & monthly goals, and having monetary goals from hitting the weekly and monthly goals! Whether you set resolutions, goals, or just set out to change your eating habits, this scale can help you keep track. Usually, I am not happy about getting on a scale but I do like that it goes beyond just the number, it gives you details and you can see it all on your phone! Whether the number on the scale goes up or down, you can go beyond that and see what your muscle & fat is and more.
