Blogging while on the go isn’t always easy especially when you’re trying to pack as light as possible. Let’s be honest, this isn’t an easy feat for me. CA and I are making a few shorter travel trips this year along with an eight-day vacation to the Carribean later this year. Since I’ve finally found a groove to blogging, I’ve been trying to find different ways to be able to travel “lightly” and be able to have my blogging and other necessities with me. We’re going on a short weekend trip on Memorial Day Weekend to be a part of my BIL’s wedding in Rhode Island. Since I know I’ll have a few hours to kill before heading to the church & reception, I figured I could bring my laptop and get some work done to get ahead of the game. With this in mind, here are my Work & Travel: 10 Must Haves For Working on the Road”! The best thing about this list is that nine of these fantastic items are all from Amazon Prime under $75, yay! The laptop backpack is a new favorite of mine; I received the Travelpro Crew Executive Choice Checkpoint Friendly Computer Laptop Case Black from eBags to try. It’s perfect for traveling; whether it’s a road trip of a few miles or flying half way around the world! It can fit a laptop up to 15.6″ and it’s RFID Blocking Pocket keeps credit cards and passports hidden to protect against loss and identity theft. Other cool features are its removable cord pouch plus a separate padded tablet pocket! I also love that it has the straps to go around luggage whether it’s your carry-on piece or regular luggage so you can get a break from having it on your back. The back zipper folds down flat so you can slide your laptop in and out with ease, plus there’s a large section to fit items that you don’t need readily available if you need it quickly. The front is where you can store your passport, keys, wallet, as well as the cords you’d need for the trip in the handy pouch.
Laptop Backpack//Kate Spade Travel Mug//Wireless Rose Gold Headphones//Sleeping Beauty Travel Eye Mask//Travel Adapter//Lenovo 500 Wireless Mouse//Reusable Ear Plugs//4 Port Aluminum USB Hub//Mouse Pad//iPhone 6 Portable Battery Case
//Laptop Backpack – I’ve been searching for a laptop bag that I could also use as part of my carry-on whenever CA & I fly. With all of the pockets and space within this backpack I know, I’ll be able to pack all of the things I want. Plus, have room for other goodies, while having everything I need within reach without digging around.
//Kate Spade Travel Mug – If you’re going to be flying, I would definitely keep this empty until you get past security, but if traveling by car (or train), fill this baby up and you’re good to go. I love the design of the mug, it’s perfect for a potential photo opportunity.
//Wireless Rose Gold Headphones – These are essential for flying or even a road trip if you and your passenger (or husband LOL) don’t agree on what to listen to. I love listening to True Crime Podcasts and CA doesn’t so usually if I’m listening to that I need to have headphones close by. These are not only adorable but wireless and come with an auxiliary cord if you want to plug it into your laptop (or watch TV on a plane).
//Sleeping Beauty Travel Eye Mask – This would serve two purposes, it’s an adorable sleep mask when you want to get shut eye when traveling and need total darkness to do so. Also, there is an insert that can be used either cold or hot. I can see myself using the cold if I feel a headache or a migraine coming on.
//Travel Adapter – This was essential when we traveled to Europe for our honeymoon. It has various plugs for travel and I like that it has 2 USB ports to charge a few things at once! I even use it when I went to Greenport this past weekend.
//Lenovo 500 Wireless Mouse – I use this daily! I have a Levono Ultrabook, and when I blog at home usually I am at my desk and can’t deal with the laptop mouse.
//Reusable Ear Plugs – I loved these when we were on our flights to and from Europe. Traveling to Barcelona, Spain was an overnight so luckily it was quiet but these came in handy on the Greece flight that was 11 hours and during the day.
//4 Port Aluminum USB Hub – This is great for laptops that don’t have a lot of USB ports, my Levono only has 2. Since my laptop stays put at home I have my mouse plugged in, my external hard drive and sometimes my camera.
//Mouse Pad – Also have used this daily, it’s sleek and doesn’t take up too much space on my desk. I took this to DC and it fit perfectly on the desk that was in the hotel room.
//iPhone 6 Portable Battery Case – I’ve used my portable battery case more times than I can count. It’s perfect for when you’re not home but want to be able to have your phone for emergencies. I take this with me everywhere, events for blogging, when we head to Baseball or Soccer games. It’s perfect for traveling, I love that it acts as a case so you can just snap it on and go, turning the charging part on whenever you need a boost.
Besides the essential laptop, what else is on your must have list when you travel?!
Now for the fun part of this post, a Disney Luggage Giveaway!! I paired up with some amazing bloggers and know a Disney fanatic would love to win this! Enter below & good luck!
Giveaway starts at midnight on Wednesday, May 17th and ends at midnight May 24th. Open to USA Residents over the age of 18. Winners have 48 hours to claim the prize. No purchase necessary.
I used to travel about 175+ days a year on business, around the globe. I’d totally agree on a good backpack. It has to be TSA friendly so I don’t have to remove my laptop (though I have TSA pre-check, some airports don’t always have TSA pre-check lines). SO important to have everything you need when you’re away from your office – whether it’s a home office or at a place of business!
You nailed it perfectly. As a blogger it is so important to have everything we need when we travel. If we have everything properly done then that is one less thing to worry about.
I do travel for work and I really need (want) the Wireless Rose Gold Headphones and the Travel Adapter and the Port Aluminum USB Hub because I am always looking to charge my electronics and I want to listen to music on the plane, but in style with the rose gold headphones. Also great giveaway
I love that laptop backpack. I definitely need to upgrade my laptop bag into something more practical. I think it’s great that you can use this bag as your carry-on. Those Wireless Rose Gold Headphones look pretty sharp too!
I definitely need to find myself a laptop backpack. I haven’t gotten one yet but I really do need one for my new laptop if I want to be on the go with it more often. And the battery case for the iPhone also looks amazing. I need to be able to charge better when I am on the go.
I used to travel more than I do now, but sure could of used a few of these. I love the laptop backpack. I am a blogger as well and we always need more than we think we do when we travel. Ty for all the tips,.
Yes those earplugs are a must, I use mine on the plane and to sleep. I even bring a kids pair along for my daughter so she sleeps better. I love this giveaway too, travel season is the best.
In a former life I traveled a lot, and can say with certainty this is a great list of must-haves. The reusable ear plugs are something that saved me time and time again. I’d be in a loud place (coffee shop) and after a while couldn’t even think. After I bought a pair of these, everything was so much better!
Great information. As a blogger i am finding myself traveling more than I ever did and honestly I LOVE IT!! All of these items are great for traveling. I have a few of them already. Thank you for the great post.
I’m going to be working on the road for a while next month, so I’ve pinned this so I can pick up some important pieces for while I’m away! I always find blogging on-the-go so difficult, so anything that can help is a winner in my eyes. And just how cute is everything on your list?! 🙂
