This weekend, was supposed to turn out a lot different than what it did. I expected a hurricane to hit us, like it was predicted, to turn and slam into us along the same lines that Sandy did. But, luckily something happened and Joaquin, turned away from the East Coast, and just bringing a storm storm surge that gave us the rain and flooding. But now that, after a few COLD days on the Island of Long… it’s now beautifully sunny, a cool 65 degrees and my kind of fall weather.
Friday-
Friday night CA and I headed to our favorite Sushi Restaurant, the same one where we had our first date, celebrated 1 & 2 years together, as well as his 31st Birthday earlier this year. We went there for a belated birthday dinner and it didn’t dissapoint. We tried an exclusive dish, squid in a stir fry, it was delicious! I was a little skeptical but it definitely was really good, and I’m glad CA had me actually try it. We also had our signature volcano dish which is shrimp, asparagus and a delicious sauce.
For dinner I always get the same 2 rolls, because I know I like them, also they are really good for lunch the next day too. CA got his usual roll and tried a new roll. We ate, drank some saki, chatted with all the people we know that work there. The sweetest thing they did was sing me happy birthday, it caught CA off guard and it was just adorable, it was fried ice cream and the perfect ending to a great dinner.
After dinner CA and I went to Target so I could pick up some things I needed for a recipe I’ll be showing you guys this week! It’s Halloween themed and you’ll love it, it’ll be live on my blog Thursday 10/8!
Saturday- The day of clouds
CA slept in, so I started getting my chalkboard ready for all the pictures I’d be taking that day. I finished up the chalkboard and made breakfast for CA, myself and our dog Baloo. We relaxed for a while, we watched Bones (on Netflix) and CA left to go home before he had to referee soccer.
I proceeded to make up my recipe and it took the majority of the day, it didn’t go well at first but I calmed down and took my time re-doing everything and completed the little recipe a few hours later.
CA came over to relax after reffing, we had shrimp for dinner, watched the Red Bulls WIN (woohoo) and headed to bed after the game was over.
Sunday-
I made some yummy pancakes for breakfast and CA headed home to watch the Jets game that was on at 9:30 since they were playing in London. I stayed home, edited the pictures that I took on Saturday, started getting the post ready for Thursday. Around 3:30 I headed to his house to have dinner with his family which was delicious, we all chatted which is always fun. I skipped dessert cause… ya know WEDDING is quickly approaching. We relaxed and I left to go home around 7ish, because we were both exhausted.
I am SUPER excited for this Halloween treat recipe that I’ll be sharing on Thursday, make sure to come back for it! ♥
