I LOVE Halloween! It’s one of my favorite holidays, and I am so excited to share this little treat you can make, either with your family or just for fun! I promise they aren’t as hard to make as they look, it just tastes a little patience, and a pinch of creativeness!
This idea came to me, in a dream… No really it came to me when I wanted something fun to make to bring to a Halloween party I am going to. Luckily Kraft along with Walmart made it super easy to find all the ingredients I needed in their Halloween area! They had all of the chocolates I needed, the coconut, marshmallows and everything right at my finger tips! One of the best parts about the Kraft Bake Center at Walmart is the low prices! It’s easy for the kids to pick out their favorite treat and it’s easy on mom’s wallet!
- 2 BAKER’S Unsweetened Chocolate
- 2 BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate
- 3 BAKER’S White Chocolate
- 1 BAKER’S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut – 14oz pkg.
- 1 JET-PUFFED Pumpkin Spice Mallows – 8oz.
- 1 JET-PUFFED Jumbo Pumpkin Mallows – 24oz.
- 1 KRAFT Caramel Bits – 11oz.
- Lollipop Sticks
- Food Coloring
- Various Colors of Icing
- Parchment Paper
How to Create it!
-Place together 3 small together on a pretzel stick or 2 jumbo marshmallows together on a lollipop stick
(If you aren’t using caramel skip to the chocolate melting)
-Melt the caramel (if you are using this in your marshmallow pops)
On the stove-top on a medium heat stirring occasionally, ensuring the caramel doesn’t stick to the bottom.
– Place dipped marshmallows on parchment covered plate and sit to cool
-Before dipping the marshmallows in chocolate make sure the caramel is completely cool
-Melt the chocolate whichever you want to make first.
-You can melt the chocolate in one of two ways:
30 second intervals in the microwave, stirring after interval
On the stove-top on a medium heat stirring occasionally, ensuring the chocolate doesn’t stick to the bottom.
-Once the chocolate is melted thoroughly dip the marshmallows and cover completely with chocolate.
-If you are not decorating the pops with faces:
Decorate the chocolate covered pop in whichever sprinkles you desire.
Follow the directions below if you are decorating the pops with colored icing
-Place dipped marshmallows on parchment covered plate and either sit to cool or place in freezer for a minimum 30 minute to 1 hour to make sure the chocolate is hard enough to decorate.
-After the chocolate is hardened you can decorate the pops however you please, with making the faces or decorating with colored icing just for fun.
Tips On Making Halloween Creatures-
Vampire- Use purple food coloring to make your white chocolate the purple for the vampire. Right after you dip the marshmallow in the chocolate put black sprinkles on the top for his “hair”. After the chocolate hardens use food gel or icing and create the face, you’ll need black & white.
Ghost- Plain white chocolate melted, after dipping and cooling the marshmallows you can create the face. The first ghost has some texture I created that with the coconut, give the ghost some texture.
Pumpkin- Use yellow & red food coloring to create the orange color, and dip & cool marshmallow. After it’s completely hardened, use green icing to create the stem, and black gel or icing for the face.
Even as an adult I had so much fun create the little monsters to go along for the Halloween party and I hope you have as much fun making them as I did!
