CA & I have been married almost 6 months now and I still think back to our beautiful whirlwind of a wedding day. We got so lucky with the weather! It didn’t rain and the sun was shining all day long, making it a little hot. The day started off seamlessly; the hair and makeup artists arrived early, as well as all my girls. I had family members in and out of the house telling me they couldn’t believe the day had finally arrived!
The one piece of advice that people kept telling me was not to stress about the little things on my wedding day. As the bride, that’s hard to do. Luckily, our day went smoothly. The morning went off without a hitch, there was plenty of delicious food to go around. Knowing that it was going to be a hot day, I dug into my “Bride!” bag and took out two Excedrin® Migraine pills.
A little back story here: I’ve suffered from debilitating migraines since I was 16 years old. After trying different medicines that never worked or that made me tired, I finally figured out what helped. (Consult your doctor if you think you are suffering from migraines. )
I knew what the signs were for an oncoming migraine, as well as what triggered them. I was going to face my two biggest triggers that cause a migraine-heat and stress. It ended up being around 80 degrees and wearing a lace wedding dress with plenty of layers, I just knew I would end up with one if I wasn’t proactive. After taking two Excedrin® Migraine pills (Use as Directed), I ate a bagel, some pastries, and went to get my makeup and hair done! Your migraine demands a migraine solution: Excedrin® Migraine starts to relieve migraine pain in 30 minutes. It’s #1 Neurologist Recommended*
After the photographer snapped plenty of pictures of myself and the bridal party girls, my mom and my uncle were on our way. One of the moments of the day that is really fun to look back on is the ride to the church in a 1955 Rolls Royce. Now, picture this: me in my wedding dress, my uncle who stands over 6 feet tall, and my mother all cozied in the back seat. Oh my gosh what a sight that was! My precious car, that I was dreaming of since I was 16, didn’t have AC! It had a fan that just blew air and all the windows were down. At that moment, I was SO glad that I decided to have my hair all up, and my mom was thinking the same thing. After arriving at the church, I was on my way to meet CA for our first look.
The temperature of the day stayed hot, which made me thankful that I took Excedrin® Migraine that morning, but I knew I’d need another dose. After the ceremony, I was still extremely hot and was chugging water like it was my job. Then we headed to the Arboretum to take bridal party pictures and more pictures of just us. By the time we got to the reception hall, I was ready to be in air conditioning and party it up with my new husband! After our family pictures, and a few more of just us, we headed inside. CA crashed on the lounge in the bridal suite and I went to mingle. After mingling, I went back into the bridal suite and was greeted with a large plate of delicious food, which included my favorites-tacos & burritos (yum!). After snacking some more, I decided to look through my bridal bag for another Excedrin® Migraine. Being in the heat all day finally caught up to me and I could tell the dull ache that was setting up shop. I wanted to make sure it went away as quickly as possible.
I am so thankful for my bridal bag, and all of the amazing things that I stashed away for the busy and hectic day that accompanies anyone’s wedding day. If you’re getting married soon or if you are in a bridal party, check out what I had in my bag.
