Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I’m super excited, 3-day weekend + we’re going to a Red Bulls MLS soccer game Saturday night, and I can’t wait! Plus, CA is running my favorite summer race, it’s called I Did the Grid, in memory of a Marine named Chris. This was the running route that many people now run in honor of him. It’s a grid, so the route is made up of 31 turns within a neighborhood! The very special aspect of this race is you aren’t truly timed, there is no timing chip, no medals, nothing. You run for all of the fallen (which Memorial Day is about), and at the end of the 4 miles, you ring a bell 4 times for the people who are named on your bib. You run for them, you honor them, and it’s extremely moving when all of the runners and walkers who are finishing each one ringing the bell 4 times.
The weather isn’t supposed to be nice apparently, it’s supposed to rain Sunday & Monday, possibly Saturday too. Crazy. But onto the sales!
