Oh, Hey Friday, more like Fri-YAY! It’s been a short week but this weekend has so much going on and I am just so excited! I’m also sharing this week’s favorites, as Friday Favorites! Basically, everything I used or wore for last weekend’s wedding. Read on for more fun things!
.ONE.
Well, Memorial Day Weekend was an amazing one! It was jam packed with having my BIL/SIL wedding, in Rhode Island (on Saturday). So we drove up last Friday, 5 hours later we arrived. Saturday I got my hair done (because I can LOL), relaxed, attended the church, took some pictures, grabbed Taco Bell, napped and then headed to the reception! Before all the wedding festivities CA and I grabbed a delicious breakfast at Megs Aussie Milk Bar, I got chocolate chip pancakes and CA got the big Brekke which looked so amazing. RaNEW Salon & Spa where I got my hair done, was amazing, the price was perfect for an up-do ($65) with my hair being long & thick. Christy (or Kristy- not sure of how she spells her name) was amazing! She was so personable, friendly and gave me a few pointers about curling my own hair! She re-created the style I showed her effortlessly and if I ever need my hair done in Newport, RI I would go there and ask for her.
.TWO.
buy a home they said, it would be fun they said… NO
House hunting… why can’t I just imagine the house I want, in a good location and BAM it appears? No, that’s not how it works? Damn. Luckily, we don’t NEED to be out of my home ASAP, and we don’t have to worry about a deadline quickly approaching. We are staying on the Island, and have a general idea of where we’d like to buy a home. Since we don’t want to bounce from home to home, we want basically a “forever” home that we can grow into instead of out of. Our real estate agent is amazing! My two cousins have used them when purchasing their homes and they are great. Hopefully, we’ll be going to a few open houses this month and maybe find our “dream” home… or make it into our dream home.
.THREE.
I am SO excited for our weekend ahead. We are going to be going into NYC to be tourists for the weekend, and even doing a 5 mile run together, yes a 5 mile run TOGETHER, CA will end up dragging me along at some point I already know this lol.
.FOUR.
I’ve also realized that before it becomes “too late” I need to begin actually train for my races that are quickly approaching in the fall. I have a few races over the summer that isn’t too bad but still, I’d like to become faster. And faster means I actually need to train, like run more than just a few times a week. Mhm, I know it but I have to put it in motion. This coming Monday, I’ve decided I need to just suck it up, go to the gym and follow the training plan for running. It’ll hurt, it’ll be painful but the end results will be worth it. I’ll be losing the weight I’ve been wanting (and needing) to, and be happy with the reflection I see in the mirror.
.FIVE.
The best thing about this weekend, CA and I will be married for ONE year! WHAT?! It’s been a year?! Where did that year go?! It’s funny because, in the beginning, I got asked so many times “So, how’s married life?” and after a while, it got super annoying, like REALLY annoying. I remember asking someone, we’ve been married 4 months (at that time they asked), how do you think it’s going? After that, I just started answering sarcastically, eventually, people got the hint, to not ask. LOL, I understand that people ask because they’re curious but, phrase it a different way, please.
I plan on doing a cute little one-year married post, so I won’t go into too much detail in this little snippet. It’s been an amazing year and I am so glad that we get to spend this weekend together and be tourists together!
Friday Favorites-
So with Five on Friday, I want to add in some Friday Favorites! Wrap up with a pretty virtual bow all the favorite items from this previous week. Since this is my first Friday Favorites, it’s going to be a little bit more than a few but you get the gist!
Alright, so the wedding? These shoes were unbelievably comfortable, the dress was a huge hit, the jewelry was light, and the outfit really came together. Plus, if you want more ideas, check out this blog post that I share my top 4 favorite outfit ideas, everything at your fingertips.
Planners, I am a huge planner addict, it’s extremely dangerous. My top favorites are Erin Condren‘s 18-month hardbound planner and the Emily Ley Simplified Planner Academic 2017-2018 edition. I have used Erin Condren forever, and just couldn’t grab a new one, the hardbound is a new addition and it is available with Amazon Prime made it a no brainier to grab, 2-day shipping for the win. The Simplified Planner is great to keep me organized with the timetable that is in the planner. Even though I work a day job, the same hours each day, I like pre-planning my social media shares. So knowing when certain things are going to be posted, or deadlines I need to meet it’s great to see it laid out completely.
My favorite makeup, these are my essentials, my go-to items for when I am on the go, or when I’m traveling but still need to have everything I need on hand. Luckily I knew if I forgot anything, we were in Rhode Island, I had my truck and I could go grab whatever I needed at any point. This mascara + this mascara are an amazing duo that really makes the lashes come out but not clumpy. These two eyeliners together are great, I use this one to line my waterline + this one for the top lid, it’s my “go-to” look, not too harsh but just enough edge. If I’m feeling pretty I take this contouring kit, it has a makeup for dummies feel, which let’s be honest is something I need especially for contouring. It’s also awesome because it has eye shadow in it! If I want my earth tone colors, something less smokey eye, I’ll use this eye shadow palette it’s a great variety of earth colors, but it’s perfect for basically great for any occasion.
