Hey there everyone!!
First I would like to introduce myself to you all! My name is Amanda and I am the owner of Adorkablii.com. Adorkablii is a blog full of reviews and giveaways and hopefully in the future there will be more goodies!
2013/2014 seems to be the healthy life lifestyle kickoff which I have to say is amazing! I have seen so many people lose weight and their lives are so different now. With that… I have seen those who have hit bumps in the road and have had a hard time getting back up.
Weight loss is not an easy road. Sadly, it never will. I have never had someone tell me losing weight was easy for them. It’s a struggle but if you really want it, you can make it happen. The thing is, just because you have hit a bump in the rode or snuck in that slice of pizza with extra cheese doesn’t mean you don’t want it any less.
We are only human and we are not perfect. It is okay to have a slice of pizza. It is okay to have a cheese steak or those French fries. I am all for a healthier lifestyle and eating those fruits and veggies but when it comes down to it, portion control is everything! Have one slice of pizza instead of three. Instead of getting a cheese steak with extra cheese and all those extra goodies, just get a regular one and only eat half.
At the end of the day starving yourself won’t get you anywhere but hungry and unhealthy. Sitting at a table full of amazing, yummy foods while you sit and eat a yogurt and nothing else, will not help you. Learn portion control. Learn to take your favorite meals and find healthier ways of cooking. It will make a world of difference.
I am on my own weight loss journey and I live across the street from a pizza shop… I mean literally, I look out my window and there they are. I can smell the food every day, all day. I was 245lbs and right now I am 241lbs. It’s only a 4 pound loss but with that I have had breaded wings, pizza fries, and the Chinese buffet.
How come I didn’t gain that weight back? Because for lunch I had a turkey burger with Sargento Thin Slices and Light Mayo, I drank loads and loads of ice water and I portion controlled. I only had two plates at the Chinese Buffet. It wasn’t a lot of food but it helped with the craving and it made my belly happy and since I controlled how much I ate I didn’t gain any weight.
Don’t be so hard on yourselves if you can’t get past a number or you feel like you can’t do it. You have to take it one day at a time and it is important to have people around you who will support you. It’s a lifestyle change and not an easy one. So please if you have come to that day where you feel you have tried everything you possibly can and you still can’t get the scale to change.. DO NOT GIVE UP, YOU GOT THIS, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
There are so many folks out there willing to help you. You are not alone! I can promise you that! You can do it! Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t!
