I know I can’t be the only owner of a dog who doesn’t look at their pet and say, “you have the life.” Baloo naps on regularly–especially if someone is home with him–and has a set bedtime of 8pm. This month I got picked to try out a new food from Purina called BrightMind for Adult dogs 7+. When added to the daily diet of dogs 7+, formulas that contained enhanced botanical oils promoted memory, attention and trainability.
I know for sure I saw visible results within 30 days. Baloo has always loved play time and enjoying my spacious backyard. He’s loves to run and leap over the “obstacles” (patio furniture & firepit) that we have in our backyard. I had the luck to be able to spend some one-on-one time during the past month that I’ve been feeding him the BrightMind food. Did you know owners who feed their senior dogs Purina Pro Plan Bright Mind as a daily diet may notice differences in owner-dog interaction, interest in play and the ability to adapt and cope with change.
He has become more playful and he’s starting to do all of the things we taught him when he was a puppy. He sits up if you have a piece of cheese or any of his treats. He does this cool “high five” trick; if you say “HIGH FIVE” and hold your hand out, he will give you one back! But, the best thing he does is he gives me a “hug” when I get home from work. Luckily, BrightMind dog food has brought back his willingness to play more, and it feels like I have a puppy again which is awesome! He still acts like an old man dog when he wants his nap or his belly rubbed.
Recently, on my day off, he and I were able to do a little documentation about what he usually does when I am home alone with him. He loves to be right by anyone that has any type of food or drink, especially milk. Normally, he and I start off the morning with him on his bed that is in my room. Then we go have breakfast together. I spoil him so usually he gets part of it and sits right next to me. Next we hang out for a while, he lays on his special chair–yes he’s got his own chair! Since the weather started getting cooler, he loves being outside more often. He’s a newfoundland/black lab mix so he’s very furry and doesn’t like the heat too much. He’s a good “supervisor” when you are doing any type of yard work as he lays down in any shaded area keeping watch. Around dinner time he loves to eat with us, although he lays down to eat. With Purina BrightMind he loves to eat two scoop fulls everyday. Then he does a little circle dance when he needs to be let out. After he has his dinner if he’s not getting his belly rubbed, he watches TV with everyone and naps some more.
Around 7:30pm he likes to get ready for bed. If CA is over, he sometimes has a snack and Baloo will hang out with him, watching him eat whatever treat it is. Sometimes he actually shares what he’s having, especially if it’s ice cream.
Overall,I am extremely happy with the results that Purina BrightMind adult formula 7+ for dogs food has done for Baloo. It seems to have revived the puppy in him, especially with him wanting to do his old tricks again, even being able to concentrate and sit up longer for a treat.
What old tricks would you love for your dog to be able to remember and do again?

Aw, that selfie of you two is awesome! And I’m with you, sometimes I look at my pets and think “dang what a life” – spoiled rotten and get to sleep all day. I’d love to be them some days!
What a sweetheart he is! When I was younger, we had dogs. Now we have a spoiled brat cat, but I would love to get a dog again. The companionship you get from them is just different.
I’ve got a almost 3 lb Chihuahua who has more energy than I do. He will be a year old in a month and a half. However, my mom has a senior Chihuahua that could really benefit from BrightMind food. I’m going to tell her about it and share your post link with her.
He’s such a cutie!!! My dog is just 4 but in a few years she’ll need an adult formula!
My dog will not stay still long enough for me to get a selfie with him. He’s such a spaz!
I love the pictures, you’re quite the pair! My husband grew up with a houseful of dogs, so we’ve got a few pics of him and his dogs that are very similar 🙂
I’m sad to say that my dog is now becoming a more senior dog. Thankfully she still enjoys her food and treats per usual, just doesn’t like to run around as much. She’s still the best, though!
Yep, I definitely t hink that about my poodle Phaedra!
I love doggy pics! Such a cutie!
We had a dog before. Her name is Gina. She looks like your dog but with a brownish fur. I kinda missed her when I saw your photos.
Anyway, I am glad he is happy with his new diet. Looks like you and Baloo will have to play more since he gained so much energy!
What a cute little boy. I think all the time that our dogs have the life. They don’t have to work for anything.
OMG, your dog is ADORABLE! I totally want a dog!
Beautiful selfie of you two… showing compassion and great relationship between human and animal
What a cute doggie! Looks happy and comfortable.
He is adorable!! I love that they make a dog food for older dogs like this!
My fur baby is a princess type Shih Tzu male named Bite. He’s 2 years old, born on Valentine’s day. I would say he is a spoiled little boy! Next month, I am getting him new doggie shoes and take him for his regular doggie spa.
He’s so adorable! I bet he’s a natural charmer! Maybe that’s why we make sure we give them a good life.
Aw what lovely pictures. Our dog is like part of the family. Couldn’t be without him.
aw what a handsome fella! I love dogs. We have 3, I grew up with always having 2. Dogs are just amazing. Mine are all so spoiled, but I love it!
Anyone that blogs about their dog is a good friend of mine. Baloo is adorable and looks like a friendly little fella. My little Alfie (a Pomeranian) also loves getting his belly rubbed. Not sure what dog doesn’t though 🙂 P.s: I’m from Newfoundland & Labrador (Canada)… funny you have a NL/Lab dog mix 🙂
I love it! My dogs give high fives too, lol. Baloo is a very handsome guy. I have always said what I wouldn’t do to live a dog’s life!
Aw the hug would be the best one. I think the pictures are cool. 🙂
Baloo is adorable and yep that selfie is just perfect! And I’ll look into Purina BrightMind for my 15 year old Kerry Blue Terrier – who right now still has a lot of energy – jogging a bit and long walks often – Thank you for such a great post 🙂
How sweet. He sure is a precious dog. How do you accomplish 8pm bedtime? Is he kennel trained?
Your dog is to freakin cute !
What a wonderful doggie! He looks so happy! I’m so glad a new food has brought back more energy to him!
I love the pic of the two of you! It looks like you guys have a special bond. So cute!
Nah, I would hate to wait on someone to take me out or feed me. Someone would get bit right in the ankles if they were late.
Awww. Too cute. Love these photos.
awwww SUPER cute!!
I love that Baloo considers furniture to be a mere obstacle to jump over! I’m glad to hear he is loving his new food so much, too! #client
I love that he loves his food, I can’t believe he still eats 2 cups per meal. He loves it and it’s the perfect size for him to enjoy all the food he wants. Yes, he always considers furniture obstacles even in the house, it’s quite funny. LOL
