It’s starting to feel a little bit like Spring here on Long Island! Even as I type this, it’s bright and sunny and around 45 degrees. If it wasn’t so windy out it would be a bit warmer, but I’ll gladly take the 45 degrees and bright blue skies! At the beginning of each season I usually try and grab some clothes that are in season, and on trend. I like to rotate and usually just mix and match what I already have in my wardrobe plus any new pieces. Since I work in an office most of my clothes double as weekend and after work clothes too, so much better for my wallet 😉. Most of my staple pieces I don’t mind spending more money on but the every day clothes I like to shop as affordable as possible.
Which is why I’m so excited to work with Walmart on their new Spring campaign- We Dress America! We Dress America is a new fashion campaign that celebrates fashion is for all, and your style has a home at Walmart. We Dress American is all about style that is original, doesn’t discriminate, and prices that we can all feel good about. When I was approached about working with Walmart and the We Dress America campaign, I was excited! I’ve shopped at Walmart for different pieces, I have a few dresses and tops that I bought last summer, that are still in my closet. I was excited to see what new pieces I could add to my wardrobe and a few new accessories too!
Outfit 1: Casual Friday or Weekend – Jeans, Button Down, Flats, Purse
My office is casual, so this is perfect for a Spring workday. Plus it would be perfect for running errands or even going out to a casual dinner out. I didn’t think I’d love this top as much as I do but the tie at the bottom is on trend and really works perfect with these high waisted jeans. I feel like this top would be perfect with a pencil or flippy skirt. Now if I could FIND one that was the right length I’d be good to go. This may be a go to outfit for the weekend and at work when I have no idea what to wear!
*The jeans have 5 different washes, The button down comes in 4 colors, and the flats also come in white + brown.
Outfit 2: Casual Work Day- Dress, Flats, Purse
This dress is such a fun color! It has POCKETS, which is part of the reason I needed this dress. I love the tie that you can pull tight or loose. This is perfect with a cardigan for a cooler day, or a moto jacket for a little bit of edge! I love pairing it with the wedges, it dresses it up a little bit, pair it with some bold earrings and you can change up the look of the outfit.
*The dress comes in 4 different colors.
Outfit 3: Work Day, Night Out- Button Down Dress, Wedges, Purse, Belt
I love the button down dress trend, it’s so versatile! You can definitely make this a dress up or dress down, with the look of shoes, belt, jacket or cardigan. The dress is a bit longer than I like so I’ll be wearing wedges with it to give me some height, short girl problems LOL. I like that it’s perfect for work and a night out, I can definitely see myself wearing this dress for a taco Tuesday.
*The dress comes in 4 colors
- The purse comes in 8 different patterns/colors!
Sizing tips– Since I didn’t want these clothes to be tight I ordered a size bigger than normal, which led them all to be big. The striped top was the only one that I wouldn’t be able to size down, the sleeves don’t have much stretch in them. I was blessed with big arms (all the women in my mom’s family does) so usually anything with sleeves I have to be conscious of the arm stretch. The striped orange dress definitely could’ve sized down TWO sizes, it was that big, and the waist tie definitely helped me. The belt for the button down dress was the saving grace, I would’ve sized down one size for this dress. The flat sandals size down half a size, there’s a lot of room and it has a adjustable strap. The wedges, size down a full size, maybe even a size and a half. With wedges/heels I usually go down half a size, but with these there was so much room that I needed to go down a full size. They’re comfortable to walk in but just try them on and walk around you’d be surprised how big they feel.
